REMINDER: Canterbury City Council Local Plan – Public Engagement Meeting This Saturday!

Canterbury City Council has launched a focused consultation on policies within its new Local Plan in accordance with Regulation 18 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012.

The consultation is open from Tuesday 9 September to Tuesday 21 October 2025 and residents, businesses and services are invited to give their feedback which is vital to planning for the district’s future.

They are inviting feedback on four key areas:

  • changes to some of the draft strategic site allocations
  • a number of new site allocations
  • Gypsy and Traveller draft policies and allocations
  • what other changes to the NPPF mean for our district

They are not consulting on the whole draft Local Plan all over again. Every single one of the comments received during the previous consultations will be taken into account as we prepare the final draft version of the Local Plan – known as Regulation 19 – early next year.

You can read the consultation documents and background evidence on their website: haveyoursay.canterbury.gov.uk
